Meet Glory Ekanem also known as Madam Organic. She is a graduate of Computer Science from Lagos State University (LASU) and a graduate of Mycology from Rivers State University (RSU) respectively. She has a certificate in vegetable seedling production from East-West Seed Company; Integrated farming and animal husbandry from FOF Farms in Ogun State, and Entrepreneurial skills from NDE, AKS.

Glory is the CEO of Giant Agripreneur Services and the Vice President of the National Association of Women in Agriculture AKS (NAWIA), the Deputy Director of Ibom Farmers Community, a member of the 50Million African Women Speak Project, agro consultant, serial entrepreneur, etc.

She is an expert in General livestock farming like poultry farming, fish farming, Catfish Hatching, snail farming, Rabbit farming, pig farming, crop & vegetable production, Organic supplements production, farm setup, farm management, Mushroom tissue culture, mushroom mother culture (MC), Spawn production, mushroom cultivation, mushroom value chain etc. She is also into cosmetology, cakes and pastries, beads and wire works, etc.

She trains farmers on organic farming and has trained farmers in Akwa Ibom state on Mushroom cultivation courtesy of the Ministry of Agriculture AKS.

Agricultural business is very lucrative. Glory ventured into her business in 2018. She started her business with a startup capital of ten thousand naira (N10,000). She started mushroom production with just 5 colonized bags, now she produces 10,000 bags.

The high point recorded in her business is the ability to multiply her business capital while the low point recorded in the business is the lack of preservation equipment for her business. She doesn’t work alone but employs people to work for her, and her business is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

Glory wants policymakers and investors to assist her with provision of preservation equipment (Dehydrator) as Mushroom is highly perishable. She also dreams of going into the Mushroom value chain by producing Mushroom bread, Mushroom Chin chin, Mushroom tea, Mushroom spice, Mushroom chips, Mushroom swallow, Mushroom peanut etc.

She concludes that her business is a very lucrative and quick-money business that generates daily income, a business that has moved from the backyard to a permanent site within a short period of time. She explains that she started with 5 bags of mushrooms in 2020 but now produces 1,000 per batch.
